The design of the proposed development at Sandford Park is landscape-led and provides an exciting opportunity for a country park as well as play areas that offer substantial green open space for both new and existing residents to enjoy.

The country park has been designed in a way to balance opportunities for recreation whilst also conserving and enhancing existing habitats. Within the country park, new and existing residents will have access to an equipped play area whilst an informal ‘kickabout’ area is proposed alongside picnic tables and seating. A comprehensive network of pedestrian and cycle paths will be provided throughout the green open space.

The existing water body is proposed to be retained and enhanced as part of the development. There will be a clear focus on education with bird hides and pond dipping platforms as a resource for visiting school groups and general public.

Additionally, landscaping will be in place along Essex Yeomanry Way where existing vegetation will be reinforced to aid a visual and noise barrier from the road.

The country park is an exciting benefit to the proposals that will give both new and existing residents sustainable open green space for all to enjoy.
