Drainage

Throughout the site there will be sustainable drainage measures that will withstand a one in a 100-year storm as well as having provisions for climate change. There is already a system of existing field drains and natural watercourse features as part of a well a SUDs network which will be enhanced providing amenity and habitat opportunities.

No housing development is proposed within the flood plain / area identified as being at potential risk of flooding by the Environment Agency, and there is an integral focus on blue infrastructure throughout. This means including retaining and enhancing water features within the site wherever possible, in addition to the new drainage strategy. These features will be placed at the lower part of the site enhancing the blue infrastructure between the housing development and the country park, and will ensure management of surface water.
