Vision

Hopkins Homes’ vision for Sandford Park is to deliver a sustainable community serving the needs of all ages, and to create a development that positively integrates into the existing landscape of Great Baddow and the wider area of Chelmsford.

The development is landscape-led, being strongly influenced by the key design, traits and historic rural patterns found locally. This includes a new country park focused on the river valley and its flood plain, protecting and enhancing natural landscapes whilst providing green open space for new and existing residents to enjoy.

Accessibility is a key feature of the vision including pedestrian and cycle ways utilising green corridor routes and public spaces. More widely the site will deliver well-connected routes to local schools, shops, the leisure centre and employment facilities in Chelmsford City Centre and other local areas.

The site will also deliver a variety of house types and tenures enhancing the opportunities for first time buyers to get onto the housing ladder or for residents to upsize or downsize their homes.
